I think I got it right this time.

THIS is the image I was meant to recreate last week when I made my big blunder. :)
I sold the goof on ebay though so all ended well.

My main reason for writing a post today is to draw attention to this
and especially this!
Way too much of this going on lately. I've seen stuff out there that is similar too things I've created, but nothing as blatant as this.
Here's how I feel about it...

be awed,
be inspired,
but in the end, BE YOURSELF.

  2. Grrrr....those other posts just make me mad. I understand being influenced or inspired by but those works are just blatantly being copied! When does it stop?

  4. I LOVE your work and it always seems to make me smile, but seeing what the other "artist", and I use that term loosely, is doing just makes me sick. Inspired I understand, but practically copying, I don't. JMHO

  8. Beautiful painting! Sad that people do what they do though. I had that happen to me shortly after 9/11 and a design of mine that was published online was being reproduced and being sold and no credit given to me. In fact, she was getting rave reviews for 'her' project and never, once, admitted it wasn't her design. I felt bad, but didn't have the guts to speak up. Luckily friends did and she made things right.

  12. I hope I never see this happen to you, I would be so miffed and would definitely tell the person what I thought. This is just awful. Loved visiting the real artists.

  13. Wow, I looked at those copycats...that is unbelievable! It takes a lot of time to develop your own style, how awful to have someone steal it! I love your new painting. It is so cute. Also, I enjoyed the clip of your your son's band, they are very talented. Which one is he??

in regards to the art ripoffs going on, it's really sick and there is WAY too much of it going on on Etsy...we have to help alert one another, that's for sure. thanks for this post.

  15. Love your little girl as always Di! As for the other links you gave, that's horrendous! That is one of my biggest fears, that someone will copy my work and sell it on as their own. I agree with your words, be yourself. I love all your work, it resonates with your own heart and personality.

  18. AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH! In her dreams! She only wishes she had half the talent you have DI! Wow Di! I am so sorry to see that other person *attempting* to copy your work!I say *attempting* because her stuff does not even come close to your beautiful artwork! I LOVE your work! Don't let this person discourage you! She is only a cheap replica. I can't even think of enough mean things to spew in her direction! That is absolutely infuriating! Is there any recourse?!
    Love,P.
