I guess I was wrong.

She doesn't even see the resemblance.
So I'll take her at her word and that's the last I'll say about it.
Moving on.

  2. .... so she says... even I saw the resemblance and I'm generally clueless... but oh well. What can you do? Just move on and have positive thoughts, I guess!

  4. Hi there hon~

I can relate, but from the other end. I made a dracula shaker (someone had a pattern...a god aweful one that looked nothing like mine...which I had never even seen before) Anyway, someone gave me grief about it. It is hard to change much on dracula, if you know what I mean...

Anyway, even if she did get the idea from you, the problem is all she has to do is change it by 20%. She's got that by just making a doll, not a painting. Unfortunately, it would be a losing battle even if you did pursue anything.

It happens all over. Just be flattered that people want to copy you. That means you are really GOOD!

  5. I saw your earlier post, I can't believe she can't see the resemblance. You're a very cool lady I have to say, I would be really annoyed.

  6. I like your attitude...it's very respectable, especially in such a tough situation like this one.

  7. "Imitation is often the sincerest form of flattery" my mom used to say. Once I contacted a couple of remarkable doll artists about seeing some very poor copies of their distinctive work. I was appalled & wanted to let them know about it. At first, I was surprised by their response, but they are absolutely right. It went something like this...Life is too short to be angry or worried. Our souls are stronger when we are positive. It's more important to be concerned with our own honor & dignity. A copy is never as good as an original. I say, Bravo to you for moving on.

  8. so she says...
I think you´re handling this perfect. You just can´t do anything against this anyway.
    Love your art.

  10. Diane~ Your stuff is amazing and we all love it. It cannot be duplicated by just making something that looks like it. It's sad to think that someone like that has no inspiration of their own. As for me, I will always want the art from the original artist.
