A bump in the road.

As my facebook friends already know, Mike lost his job yesterday. Thanks to everyone for all of the kind words and encouragement.
We've been through this before, and look, we're just fine.
I have no doubt we'll be fine this time too.
It's just a little bump in the road. :)

  12. So sorry for you and your hubby! Its never fun to "lose" a job but your outlook is so positive. You have the wisdom of looking back if you have been through this before. My Dad closed a business that was no longer profitable when I was 20 and in college. My two unemployed parents took me on a three week long vacation. They didn't let the fact that he didn't have a job stop them from enjoying that time. It was wondeful and in no time he was gainfully employed again. My advice to you and your honey is to take the time to do something that you've wanted to do but didn't have the time before. Sending a big hug to you!

  15. Sending positive thoughts and prayers your way. We too are struggling with the slow economy as my Mike has been laid off for several months now with it looking very bleak for at least a full year yet to come before he *may* even get called back to work (construction sector). Just stay positive and do your best! Have a great day! ~Stacey

  19. It makes me cringe! I hope he finds work quickly. Times are really tough. I never dreamed we'd see times like this. Having done it before, you know what you are likely up against. Can your husband sing? Have him join the band and enjoy the ride.

  22. Hi Diane
I am sorry to hear your husband lost his job. We know what that's like. After you get over the initial shock and begin to think about what other opportunities might be awaiting you, then it's easier to deal with. Perhaps there is something even better ahead for you :)

  23. Diane:

Gosh, it just seems like everytime I turn around this economy hits someone else.

I so envy your positive attitude, as I find myself more of a "wallower" at times.

I wish your husband all the good luck in the world on finding a new, (and maybe even better) job.
