Poppin' in...

I decided to make this at the last minute yesterday for our friend TAylor's 21st birthday.
She is Jesse's (flyght guitar player extraordinaire) sister. She is our good luck charm for the Penguin play-off run. We have a way better chance of winning if she parks her butt on the middle of our sofa at game time.
I added these words on the side in vintage text:
"many considered her to be the Queen of the Penguins".
She celebrated (HARD) at the Flyght show last night.

Happy Birthday, Taylor!

I won tickets to The Clark's storyteller show at Club Cafe on Tuesday, which would be great but game 3 is also on Tuesday.
My two most favorite things! What to do?
We are going to make our final decision on Sunday after game 2. I guess the outcome of game 3 will be the same whether we are watching or not...but still.

My eyes have been just KILLING me lately. I'm blaming it on so much time in front of this dang computer. Going to try and stay away from it as much as possible for the next few days

It's finally warming up around here and I've been enjoying having my husband here at home with me.
The school year is winding down and summer is so close I can almost taste it. It's making me do crazy things like cut my own bangs! Meanwhile, Mike is sporting a pretty heavy play-off beard. Which he hates...but rules are rules.

Still lots of birdies available in my shop. And don't forget about the lockets at polarity.
I also added this older painting as a print.

Working my way through the to-do list

I didn't think I was going to like the robin's so much but turns out they're my favorites.
Now to use this image to make a box for the wooden robins and I'll be able to add all of the love birds to the shop tomorrow.
There will be 3 plus a listing for some custom lovebirds.
I'll let you know a time as soon as I know.

Mike took the week off but we really have no plans as of yet.

What's New?

Well, I'll tell you what's new.

This painting. The one with some of my new pretty papers that I told you about yesterday.
I don't know why the bows on the balloons. Maybe they're more like flying topiaries. But I like 'em.
This will be available shortly. As soon as I can throw the listings together.

I contacted the lovely Cat of Polarity to see if she would, pretty please, use my images on her wonderfully unique lockets.
And she said yes. Yay!

Got my little boxes in the mail yesterday, so I'll be busy today getting those ready to house all of my little lovebirds.

I'm a bit sleepy! Eli had a deck game at 10:30 last night. You really should be able to drive before you start playin' in the adult league. Half of those guys had arms as big around as one of Eli's legs!
Anyway, off to paint. JOsh is home sick. Take Eli to power skating at 4:00.

Hello All!

Sorry I didn't stop in with Mother's DAy wishes yesterday. Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend.
I sure did. I'm still basking in the glow of another Penguin victory and looking forward to finishing those CAps off tonight. :)
Will not say how I feel about that nasty Ovechkin here because my blog is for sweet things only. :) Like this.

His English is not so good, but he tries to string the words he knows together to answer the questions the best he can.

Eli had some roller games this weekend so we spent a few hours at the deck.


Went to Michaels on Saturday and stocked up on supplies. I got a 12 x 12 paper pad full of the most beautiful papers I've ever seen. I'm using some of it for a project in my bathroom (more later on that), but will have a lot left over to use in future paintings. Yay!

i've been working on some little wooden love bird plaques. They did not have the 3" boxes I wanted at Michaels so I just ordered them online. Once they arrive I'll be able to put these images on the boxes and tuck the matching love birds inside. They'll be on etsy just as soon as I finish 'em up.

Easing back into my stack of requests

Here's one I can check off of my list. Kind of a re-do of Bird on a Wing.
A little bigger and a frog instead of a bird... obviously. I'm calling it "Leap of Faith".
I'm trying to get my list of custom requests in order and come up with a time frame in which they can expect them.
I Just don't like to spend ALL my time on them as that means no new things in my shop for anyone else. :(

Anyway, I just got up for the second time. Mike was in bed with a headache and me and my headache decided to go join them. :)
Don't know if it was all the stress from the Penguin game last night or all of the rain, but headaches stink!

Okay, I'm going to start my day for real now. :)

I'm also almost reached my breaking point and will probably move "Mary's Little Lamb" to ebay today. I don't know why it kills me so much to see a painting just sit there, but it does. For now though I'm just going to enjoy my coffee.

Here's what I've been up to since yesterday:


I made a cute little box for Taylor's penguins.
I've already ordered some more blanks for the penguins and I think I may head out to Michaels tomorrow to see if they have these little boxes there. As soon as I get everything I need I'll post a listing in my etsy shop so that those who are interested can order custom ones. Maybe I should work on some paintings for my other lovebirds so I'll have an image to put on the top of those boxes. We'll see.

I also created this mounted print for someone that was asking about it.

I'm going to add it to my etsy as soon as I finish this post. She wasn't certain that she wanted it (actually it was for her sister) so it will not be a reserved listing. UP for grabs to anyone who wants it.


And last but not least, I customized my E is for Elephant print for a little girl named Ever Rylyn. What a pretty name!




Nervous, but hopeful about the Pens game tonight.

In other news, I have 3 sets of little love birds that I'll be listing soon, but I saved the last two and made these sweet little penguins for Eli's girlfriend. I still need to add a bow to "Taylor's:" head, but aren't they cute? I wish I'd have made them all penguins now. I've got to order more. They are only 2" tall but they pack a lot of cute!


I also added this B is for Bunny girl to my etsy shop. I'm calling it a semi-original. It's a print of my original sketch that I gently colored with prismacolor pencils. Something different...and yet the same. :)

I never made it out for a real grocery store run yesterday...just a mini one. So here I go now. For real.

I'm so glad I decided to crackle this one. I think she's just perfect now!

I've also been working on these sweet little "Love Birds" over the weekend.

I also have a set of blue ones done and have started on a pair of robins.
I may even look for some tiny nests that they can live in while I'm out today.
