Two little "Flower Girls"

I finished the first two paintings in the new "Flower Girl" series I mentioned in the last post.
I think they are sweet and hope you like them, too.

They were just added to my etsy shop.
You can visit there for all of the details.

Last day for Mike at work tomorrow and then off into the unknown for us!
Wish us luck!!!

I know, I know...

I should be getting back to commissions and stamp sketches.

But I couldn't resist starting a new little series. "Flower Girls"
This is the first. She's called "Daisy".
Simple and sweet. And the stain smells good. :)
Next up "Rose". And maybe I'll slip a Violet and Lily in for good measure.

Okay done and listed!

ETsy or Ebay.
You choose.

Summer sale!!!

Wow! It took me a while to adjust all of the prices, but it's done now and the lower prices will stay for the rest of the summer.
Time to stock up!!!
Have a look here.

Still working on the frog painting. Almost done. Need to paint the sides and add something to his (her?) other hand.
My current favorite (it changes by the minute) is a little sign saying "Wishes Granted". Maybe I'll add some tiny little fairy wings as well. Maybe. :)

Also wanted to the show the picture that proves that Aaron got to meet Gavin DeGraw!
Word is he almost cried. :)

And, one last thing, my "Enjoy the Ride" painting is up for grabs ebay thru Monday...and still in my etsy shop for the time being.

HAPPY, HAPPY THURSDAY ALL!!!

How lucky!

How lucky are my paintings that they get to live on this wall!?! Love the color!
Thanks for sharing, Elma. :)

Thanks so much for all of the words of encouragement about the lay-off. I know that we aren't the only ones with an uncertain future right now. Your comments really help.
And thanks also for all of the "rubber stamp love". I was really nervous that people weren't going to like them. For the most part, I think people did. I hope so.

I just finished up a few commissions and am excited to be working on a couple of my own sketches.
I have this one on canvas ready to paint:

But then I got the idea for an IF painting. The prompt this week is DRIFTING. So I'm working on that now too. NOt sure which I'll paint first. But be on the look out. Both will show up somewhere in the next day or so.

Ta Ta!

pssst - Mike is out back right now giving my nephew, Brant a mohawk. there will be pictures of that as well. :)

Flowers at the side of the road...

That's how Karen at Sugar Nellie put it anyway.
Because, yep, you gotta take the bumps with the flowers. And luckily I do have a very lovely "garden". :)

What the heck am I talking about, you say?
Well my new Sugar Nellie Stamps, of course.
Karen is having a blog hop today in honor of the release, and wait until you see all of the wonderful things these talented girls have created! You can start the hop here.

There are 8 images in this first release. You can see/purchase the rest of them at Funky Kits. I'll also be adding a link in my sidebar so you can pop on by there anytime.

Thanks so much to the girls at Sugar Nellie and all of the stampers who made my images look so good!

A bump in the road.

As my facebook friends already know, Mike lost his job yesterday. Thanks to everyone for all of the kind words and encouragement.
We've been through this before, and look, we're just fine.
I have no doubt we'll be fine this time too.
It's just a little bump in the road. :)

A Great YEAR for hockey!

I can finally stop holding by breath!
They did it!!!

We did our part by gathering all the right people together.

Well, except for poor Aaron who had to set up for a Flyght show. He did get to watch though.
We wore all the right things and sat in all the right places.

Eli full of confidence in the new Penguin hat that TAylor bought him and, as always, drinking Pepsi from his lucky Eat 'n Park Mario Lemieux STanley Cup glass. (it only got spilled once...Shane!)

Mike, Aaron's TAylor, and I headed out to the Flyght show after we watched the trophy presentations.

That's my foot!
I don't know what those things are on Jeff's feet. :)

It was a late night, but we went to bed happy.
Tonight...THE CLARKS!
I'm hopin' some Penguins show up. Ya never know.

(i stole all of these photos from TAylor's facebook. HOpe she doesn't mind.)

Sheepish

I'm not being sheepish when I say these are my favorite paintings I ever painted.

I mean, isn't he dapper?

But she's still my favorite-favorite.
Even if Mike thinks it does look like she has a steak on her head. He's just jealous. Or hungry.

I wish I could show a photo of the two side-by-side, but once again my cheap old camera is being difficult. :(

Anyway, this lovely couple is available right now in my etsy shop.
If no one wants 'em they just may end up in my living room. And I almost never say that!

ALSO ON EBAY!

Next up...

'Ewes So Handsome".

And, yes, I crackled. :)

I'm
-still enjoying "The Host"

-happy that my kids are out of school. Aaron got up and ran before 6:00! He's already showered and out of the house. Last year he'd still be in bed. At least until noon. The others still seem to be going with that schedule. :)

-and soooooooo happy that there will be a game 7!!!!

Ewes So Pretty!

Trying to decide....again....whether or not to crackle her. I'm going to work on her companion piece, "Ewes So Handsome" while I think on it.

I think the crackle was a good choice on this one:

Last day of school! Kids had to go for 3 hours. They'll be home in a 1/2 hour.
Gotta run!

Life is Good.

Well, with the exception of that hockey game on Saturday. What the heck was that?

This is the painting I'm working on. Still a bit flat. Needs more work.

Like I said, though, the weekend was good. Full of sunshine.
We fit in Eli's hockey game and then went late to a Flyght show on Friday.
Saturday we went out to my mom and dad's to watch the game.
And yesterday, lunch at Taco Bell (yum) and then off to see The Hangover. So funny!!!
The besty-best part though was getting the new Clark's CD in the mail on Friday. Best one yet. Each song better than the next.
You should get it.

And in between all that I'm reading The Host by Stephenie Meyer and really enjoying it.
Oh, and Josh did get his hair cut, but not too short. I'll have to take some pictures when he gets home. I thought today was the last day of school, but it's tomorrow. :(

See, it's all good! :)

IF - Craving

I'm cheating and using an old image. :(
I think I'm already in lazy, summer vacation mode.

IF - Adapt

Sorry to show this yet again, but I thought it would work for the IF theme of adapt. You know, adapting to change....letting go.
Plus this painting will be on it's merry way soon enough. (Auction ends on Sunday.)

And here's what I'm working on today. Trying to marry these two images. The girl on the left with the cow on the right.

Wish me luck!

Off You Go!

Just listed on ebay

"HOW LUCKY I AM TO HAVE SOMETHING THAT MAKES SAYING GOODBYE SO HARD." ~from Annie

And, speaking of saying goodbye, Josh is beginning to talk about a haircut. He thinks I don't know that it's because of a girl. But it's because of a girl. :)

Last day to enter the give-away! Such an amazing response. I wish I give something to everyone!!! You were all SO HELPFUL!
Thanks again!

You did it!

Although they have not officially been moved to the finalists section, I got word from the head of Gorilla productions that Flyght is officially the winner for May. Thanks in big part to all of you guys, I'm certain. Although the Flyght voting is over, at least for now, you all still have until tomorrow night at midnight to enter my give-away...even if you've already entered...go ahead...do it.
NOt sure what the next step is in the recording contract contest process, but I'll let you know when I do.
Word is that there is still at least one more round and the contest isn't "over-over" until March 2010. Argh!
On the bright side, Aaron will be almost done with High School by then and can devote his full attention to Flyght.
We can't thank you all enough. The boys won some recording time in that last round and are just waiting to get in there and "lay down some tracks". Did I say that right? :)

In other news, here's a sneak peek at the painting I'm working on today.

Wanted to get in an "available to everyone" item before I started working on my next commission.
This girl was to be one of my Sugar Nellie stamp images for this first batch of stamps, but unfortunately the image was not sharp enough. Hopefully, we/I can fix that up and get it in the next batch.
Word is the stamps are done and will be released very soon!
I'll keep you posted. :)

Thanks again!!!
