Pssst....

This little witch will be in my shop at approximately 5:20. Don't dilly dally. :)

Houndstooth Moon

I've made my latest painting fit the IF theme...pattern... this week by adding a houndstooth moon. :)

Sunday Sketches 9/27

Hello all. Hope you had a lovely weekend.

Ours was uneventful (and rainy) for the most part. Josh did suddenly become ill last night with a rather high fever and stomach flu-like symptoms. He's home now and seems to be doing a bit better. No more fever, anyway.

I managed to do a bit of sunday night sketching last night. In fact, I've even started the painting on this little witch and her friends, but am not very far along.

I also read the most wonderful book, "The Magician's Elephant". I guess it's probably considered a children's book, but then again, that's always been my favorite kind.
Anyway, if you're a fan of fairy tales and happy endings you should probably check it out.
It's no wonder an elephant found it's way into my notebook last night. Although she appears to be a bit looooong when I see her here.

We came very close to getting a new rug for the living room yesterday. We went to Tuesday Morning and found what seemed to be the perfect rug until we unrolled it and found it to be square instead of rectangular. :( Just won't work in our living room. So I've been obsessed since then with trying to find the perfect rug online. No luck so far. Any suggestions?
I should probably mention that we don't want to spend too much since we need one for the dining room, as well.

Okay, must get back to taking care of my baby...and also to that little witch.

HUGS!

Bunny Slippers

She's all done.

And she's livin' in my shop.

Mike's home today and tomorrow because of the G20.
We are headin' up to the high school in a bit to meet with Aaron's GEAR teacher...for the last time.
Then who knows what.

Enjoy your Thursday!

Cleaning house and some new sketches

I think I'm going to go ahead and declare Sunday night "sketch night".
So you should go ahead and plan on stopping by on Monday mornings and havin' a look. :)
I know, they're messy... but still.

I spent the better part of my weekend cleaning house. Which was probably not the best way to spend the last weekend of summer, but when the cleaning bug bites you gotta go ahead and scratch. (where did that come from?)

The main focus was here in Eli and Josh's room.
Finally took all of the toy bins up to the attic. I think our toy playing days are pretty much over around here :(

All that's left are video games, movies, art supplies, some musical instruments and smelly hockey gear.

I'm really anxious to get all the little things that need to be done around here done...so that if we would happen to find our dream house we'd be ready to go at a moment's notice. And you know, I'm always lookin'.

Anyway, hope you all enjoyed the weekend. I'm off to run errands and then maybe come back and turn these sketches into something a little prettier.

BTW, I've added a few new prints to my shop, if you have time to stop by.

Happy Anniversary to my Mom and Dad.

I see the moon, the moon sees me
The moon sees somebody I want to see
God bless the moon and God bless me
And God bless the somebody I want to see.

It seems to me that God above
Created you for me to love
He picked you out from all the rest
To be the one that I loved best.

I had a heart 'twas true and good
But now it's gone from me to you
Take care of it as I have done
Cause you have two and I have none.

Love Girl on Ebay

It's been so long since I listed a painting on Ebay that I almost forgot how to do it. I hadn't planned on selling there again, but it seemed like people were missing out on originals that they wanted because I'm bad at giving adequate advanced notice. This way you have 5 days. We'll see how it goes.

Also my sidebar said I wouldn't list this until 2:00, but I figured since it is ebay it didn't really matter.
So anyway, it's there now if you want to go and have a look.

And here's a little peek at what I'm working on now.

Just a face. :)

I've been trying to get sick for the last couple of days. Everyone else in the house has had it. Not H1N1, I don't think because no fever. Just sore throat and some aches and pains. I feel good enough that I would feel guilty if I stayed in bed and did nothing, but bad enough that I don't really feel like doing anything.

So pretty boring around here. Other than this:
Our whole family is excited that my cousin, Craig, his wife, Lauren, and the crew of Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends took home an Emmy for Outstanding Animated Program for the episode "Destination Imagination".
Congratulations!

Thursday already?

Hello people!
I'm just popping in to let anyone who's interested know that I just made a new painting available over in my shop. It's entitled "Celebrate Friendship" and is on an 8 x 10" flat canvas panel (so it's a bit cheaper than my usual paintings).

Mike's here at home with me today, so I really don't want to go on any longer. I'm sure he has no idea how much time I actually spend in front of this computer. Oh crap, now the kids are here too! Gotta run!!!

Just so you know...

I added a fabric scrap bow to my witches hat.
And painted the sides black.
She'll be in my etsy shop at 2 pm EST.

A kitsch witch and a happy birtday.

So here she is. She may not have gone the way some of you would have liked. It was so hard to decide whether to make her a traditional witch in black and orange or to make her all shabby and floral. I kept coming back to the red gingham. But all of the other ideas were appealing too so I guess I'll have to make a few more.
The sides still need to be painted so she's not quite ready to be listed. I'll let you know when that's going to happen.

Yesterday was my 45th birthday.
Since we were all in one place and looked presentable I got Robert to snap a picture of our little family.
We really have very few of these.

My parent's sprung for dinner at Adam's Pine Creek to celebrate Mike and my birthdays.
It's a big old barn-turned-buffet with tacky paintings on the walls and yummy food. Especially the bread fresh out of the oven.
Here's us waiting for our table.

Dad and mom. :)

Robert, his friend Nina, and Josh.

My sister, Roni, and Mike.

Roni rockin' a pumpkin hat.

Eli in a chimney hat.
My favorite was the turkey hat, but I didn't get a good picture. :(
Anyway. We had fun.

Puppy Kisses

Being around my nephew's new puppy got me to thinkin' about how much I love puppy kisses. I mean, who doesn't.
And not just their kisses. I love their puppy breath, and their little puppy barks, and even their sharp little puppy teeth.

I love "she believed" girls too, so I just went on ahead and combined the two.
If you head on over to my etsy shop at 2:00pm EST "Puppy Kisses" will be there...maybe it will even follow you home. And you won't even have to ask your mom, "Can we keep it?". :)

It seems that facebook has made me a bit of a bad blogger. I spend a fair amount of my computer time there and have been neglecting my blog a bit. Sorry, I'll try to do better.

Also things are busy around here what with back to school and all. We've got a week-and-a-half under our belts already.

Football games start up this weekend. My boys don't play, but Aaron is in charge of the "Ram Pound" this year. Does every school have something like this. A group of kids that paint up and REALLY make their presence known at school sporting events? As leader, Aaron's duties also include providing a grill and food/drinks for the pre-game tailgating. (I'm to understand that the school will reimburse him for the food/drinks)

Unfortunately, Flyght has a show Friday night and Eli's going to have to take over for Aaron at the first game. Luckily, it's an away game so all he'll have to do is carry the flag (and be loud).
Saturday may involve some hay baling,

because we love the horses and they love to eat.
And then, because we also like to eat, out to dinner for my and Mike's birthdays...compliments of my parents. :)

Flyght is playing at the Butler County fairgrounds on Sunday.
They were hoping that the cd would be ready for the 4th, but that is questionable now. They finished the recording in 2 days, but they've had a hard time with the studio since the beginning with delays and such.
Word is there are going to be new t-shirts too, for those of you that were asking. I'll keep you updated.

So now you're all caught up. See you at 2:00. :)
