Like most of my girls (but not all) these sisters/angels have loooong, skinny necks.

This painting is brand new.

WIP - Me 4 u & U 4 Me

Here's what I'm working on. Yes, it's in it's messy stage...and so is my desk.
But I did manage to talk myself out of grocery shopping yesterday and now I can't put it off any longer. :(

Josh is home sick. He seems to have whatever it was that Eli had this weekend. It seems to just be traveling through the family and then starting again soon after.
So off to the store and post office and then back here to take care of my baby.

As for Sunday night sketching, that didn't happen. I was trying to figure out what has to be done with our taxes now that Mike and I are both self-employed. And Eli had a late ice practice that he had to be driven to and from.
But here are a couple of rubber stamp ideas that didn't get used that I just may have to turn into little Christmas paintings.




That's it for now. I'll be busy trying to think of a good reason to put off grocery shopping until tomorrow. :(

There's a bit of Spring in my Shop

Pretty Faces #6...a little bit of Spring.

My plan is to make these girl's into a 2010 calendar. This girl would be May, I guess.
I better get a move on though. These are small, but somehow they always seem to take just as long as a bigger painting.

Speaking of spring, it's been a rainy few days around here.
I finally went to get a routine check-up last week after not seeing a regular Dr. for about 10 years. Mike and I both had to go and get blood work done this morning and so he got to see what happens to me first hand when they take my blood.
I feel fine for a few minutes and then I feel like I'm going to pass out/throw up. I get sweaty, cold, clammy, and turn I nice shade of yellow, I'm told. I think that this was the worst time yet. It took about 10 minutes of Mike fanning me with his chart for me to recover. That's me!
Nothing a nice veggie omelette at Eat 'n Park can't cure.

-pack up some prints and a painting
-go to the post office
-go buy some dog food and a video tape for Eli's ice hockey game tonight. First of the season.

-and laundry. always. :(

Is that all? Maybe. But probably not.
BTW, the dog food isn't for the hockey game. It's for Penny to eat. :)

Sunday Sketches 10/11

So, I'm a mom who tends to get attached to the girls that my boys bring home. I'm not talking about Mike. He doesn't really bring girls home...anymore. :) Just kidding. Although one did bring him home the other night. Thanks again Ashley!
Anyway, Eli's Taylor has a Halloween birthday coming up so I've been sketchin' up some masked mermaids in her honor.
But now she went and got herself a perm so I may have to adjust the hair a bit.
She's also made a special request that I paint her sister a lighthouse.

But that would be boring, so I've added a pretty little girl into the mix.
So these will probably keep me busy most of the week.
I do still have all of last week's originals available though if you are looking for something for the girls in your life. :)

I've listed "I CAn't live Without You" over on ebay. Just to test the waters there again.
But it's still in my etsy shop too for the time being.

It seems that I've been spending every minute of computer time these days searching for home decorating inspiration.
Ever since we got the new rugs I'm desperate to pick the perfect paint colors for our main living area. I love all colors which makes it really hard for me.
This really tempting me right now. The colors are just gorgeous!
And, well, this site is just riddled with inspiration. Maybe, too much. I think I'm more confused than ever.
Oh well, wish me luck. I'll let you know how it turns out.

IF - Flying

Well, my new painting is bunny related and that really has nothing to do with flying.

But I've been fighting with my printer all morning and now I've got to go and get packages ready to send.

Also, the stone has been passed without much more pain and Mike is back to work.
New rugs are in the dining and living rooms. I'd take pictures but now I think we need to paint. Ain't that just how it goes. You get something new and it just makes you see how shabby everything else looks. And not in a good way.

Boo Who

I guess it's only fitting that these two look a bit sadder than they did in the original sketch. Considering their message.
In my shop today at 1:00pm EST.

Oh yeah, the craziness had/has to do with Mike and a kidney stone and a very frustrating trip to the ER. He is still here at home waiting to pass it, but the excitement has died down. The pain comes and goes at this point instead of the constant pain of Monday afternoon/evening.
Also sad news came on Monday that my Uncle Morris passed away. Hoping to make it to the service tonight, but waiting to see what's going on with Mike.

Some good excitement will be that our new rug for the living room will be ready for pick-up today. So I'm headed downstairs now to do some heavy lifting to get the room ready.

Sunday Sketches 10/4

This was actually a Saturday afternoon sketch, I think.

I was busy painting this ladybug girl sketch up last night. She's for a friend. Well, actually for her daughter.

I'll show the finished product later today, but I've got to head out to the grocery store now. :(

So I went and added me a bunch of holiday postcards to my shop figuring postcard stamps are even cheaper and wouldn't a postcard and matching stamp make the perfect little holiday greeting?
I've added a vintage postcard back and left text off of the front so that you can add your own or leave it blank so the recipient can frame it up.
