The great snowstorm of 2010!
Lost power/heat at around 9:30 PM on Friday.
Got it back around 6:00 AM on Sunday.
At that time the thermostat read 41 degrees. Brrrr!
We lost it again Sunday afternoon, but it seems like it's here to stay for now.
Many are still without power including my parents.
They have a gas fireplace insert that is keeping them warm, but no running water since their pump runs on electricity.
Their phone service is spotty but I did manage to talk to them yesterday.
My mom talked of them trying to head this way for showers, but there are lots of trees down in the roads and driving conditions are not great.
(Rose and Eva Lynn don't worry about Dale if you haven't reached him, he and the cat went up to sleep at my mom's last night.)
My sister was heading back out there today before work so I'm waiting to here from her and then we'll decide if we should go out there.
So now we are still shoveling out, catching up on laundry and internet business.
No school today or tomorrow.
It's supposed to snow again tomorrow. :(
Poor Penny was very confused. Mike had to shovel her this path before she would think of stepping off the porch to do her business. She never gets on the furniture, in fact she's very uncomfortable when you make her get on it. But she got in bed with us Saturday night and we had to put a blanket on her to stop the shivering.
We'll be walking down to the post office soon if you are waiting for something from me. Hopefully it's open. We got no mail on Saturday so I'm not sure.
I'm almost done with my give-away painting and hope to be starting that up later today or tomorrow.
Thanks to everyone who kept voting for Flyght while we here in the Valley could not.
Keep it up! Only 20 days left. :)
Go visit this blog for a better idea of what's been going on in our area. Way better photos. :)
Diane I know how you feel I live in Maryland and we got slammed and now with another 10" on it's way after getting 26". We were very luck though we did keep our power...thank goodness. All I can say is hanging in there your not alone. :0)
ReplyDeleteI go through withdrawal without power!! You sound like you faired pretty well. Good for you. When you are not used to this stuff, it can be a real pain. Poor puppy!! We got a ton of snow too and I for one am ready for spring!!
