Aaron's upcoming graduation mostly. (not sure what part of my brain the "girl in fox clothing" came from)
It's his last real day of school. Next week is all about awards and graduation practice.
GRADUATION!
It seems that it only took minutes for him to go from this:

to this:

We couldn't be prouder of him and all that he's accomplished.
I have a video of him on my facebook page singing a song that he wrote. The video was taken by his friend Hayley during writer's forum in the school library. I'd post it here but it's not on youtube so I don't know how to do it.
He will also be performing the class song with a group of seniors that put together a little band for the occasion.
So, yeah, I'm bound to cry.
I never did mention that Flyght did not win the Gorilla Music contest. :(
But they do really, really appreciate all of the support that they got from family, friends, and followers.
Gorilla did book a show for them this weekend. They will be playing the Cleveland Music Festival tomorrow at Peabody's. Many bands. Two or Three stages. They go on at 10:30 and play about 5 songs. All original, I think.
So, if you're in the area...
Eli's heading to the Indianapolis 500 this weekend with Taylor and her family.
And Josh has his 8th grade dance tonight on the Gateway Clipper.
He'll be heading off to high school next year! Yikes!!!
So here's a toast to my boys and all of the other kids and their proud parents out there.
Hope you have a wonderful summer!!!

(this post would be so much better if I could end with a "Go Pens"! gah!)
I love how your brain works!! Those sketches must be drawn as soon as you wake up!!! Congratulations to your son, it is such a proud moment when they reach that part of their life!!! Sad for parents too......they are so grown up and it happened so fast did it not?
ReplyDeleteI wish we could have said go Pens go too!!! Too bad!
Hugs,
Margaret B
Congratulations to your son, how excited he must be to begin a new chapter in his life! I imagine how proud you must be not to mention a little sad. Our daughter will graduating from kindergarten and it feels so much more than that, LOL. Our babies grow up so fast thank goodness for cameras and movie cameras!
ReplyDeleteI love the sketch (especially the owl) but then again I love all your paintings and sketches! I plan on purchasing some prints soon and have my own Dudadaze wall, I'll be sure to send some pictures when I do.
Have a great day!
I think fox girl is one of my favorites! I'm raising a glass (of water, it's early) to your sons.
ReplyDeleteAwwwww congratulations, what a sweet post!!! Love the photos of your son with his guitar. I have two young boys one is 7 and one is 3 and I feel like they are growing up so fast! Your sketches are so cute I love your characters they are so full of personality!
ReplyDeleteYour words caught me in the throat....I remember being exactly where you are now with a son graduating last year. It's almost a bittersweet event. You're so proud of them but yet you see the little boy growing up.
ReplyDeleteYour pictures are just darling...thanks for sharing them with us. ENJOY this time! Have a GREAT weekend! We're heading to Indy also but not for the 500...my nephew is graduating.
hugs
Denise
