Alice Alone

So I sat down to work on something for the IF prompt: clumsy.
Alice tumbling down the rabbit hole was the first thing that came to mind.
Which I did do a sketch for. But this Alice came out too and she's the one I loved most so here she is. :)
I wasn't going to show her until I painted her counterparts...Little Red Riding Hood (Simply Red) and Goldilocks (no clever name yet), but as always I couldn't wait.

I love her sweet simplicity.

Just a heads up that the time for Flyght's final vote is coming around in February. You all were such a help last time. I'll post the details soon and plan a give-away as a thank you.

In REcovery

Sorry, I've not been around.
Still recovering from the wisdom teeth removal.
Thought it was going to be a piece of cake at first. Felt pretty good on Wednesday and Thursday. More pain these last two days...now that the healing's begun I guess. I just hope my pain pills don't run out before the pain does. :)

It's not so bad really. Mike's not had much work since Christmas which is bad, but good that he's been here to take care of me. He's also helping me clean up my next batch of Sugar Nellie stamps using Adobe Illustrator. Kind of like he's my assistant or something. ;)
Also I have the best mom and neighbors who have kept me well-stocked with Chicken Soup. Yum!
I'd hoped to get more done in the way of VAlentine's day art, but have been using my "couch-time" to read my new Eugene Mirman book, "The Will to Whatevs". Way funny!

Hoping to check in soon with some new artwork. Stay tuned.

Sunday Sketches 1/17

Okay, just one sketch that I can show you.
This is what I'll be painting next, but have to get some new stamp images inked and ready to go first.
I've been over at Zazzle this morning adding "My Little Dog" to some items and I'll be adding it as a print in my Etsy shop momentarily.



Did I mention that I get my wisdom teeth out on Wednesday? I do. All four. Not looking forward to that.
So if yo don't hear from me on Wednesday you'll know why.

Morning Sketches...

Mike's home. No work.
Kids are home. Act 80 day.
Hope to get a painting I started yesterday done, but you never know how things are going to go when everyone's here. Plus the house just seems to be in a constant state of clutter. But I do enjoy the company. :)

If - Confined

I've been feeling a bit confined (IF tie in :) ) as far as my artwork goes lately.
Need to try something bigger. With more layers.
This is a work in progress on a 16 x 20" canvas. I'm sure it will change a great deal before it is actually done.
Nothing is even attached yet. In fact it's a bit askew since my cat walked on it right before I snapped the picture.
Luckily there was no paint involved at this point. :)

Update 1/14: Finished piece here.

Green Grass

She believed the grass was greener on HER side of the fence.

Just going to print up yesterday's orders and then I'll add this to the shop.
So, in about an hour, I'd say.
Must get to the post office and grocery store before it starts snowing. AGAIN!

Aaron turns 18 today. I should be posting pictures of him growing up and saying what a great kid he is and all, but that will have to wait until another day. (he is pretty great, though)
I'm working on making him a fruit pizza and a nice salmon dinner.
