Who do we appreciate?

Not sure what's better...having fans or being a fan. It's a win-win really.
It was such a good feeling to see sooooooo many fans come out on Thursday to root the Rams on to victory.
We took what was usually the other teams home ice and made it ours. There is no doubt that the boys played better because of all the support. Today the Rams play for the Chiefs Cup and if we have a turn-out like we did for the last game it will be hard to beat us.

The same is true for the guys in the band.
Great crowd = great show. One feeds off the other.
I can't thank everyone enough for all of the support you've given Aaron and Flyght.
Today is the last day to vote. They've held their place pretty steadily in the top ten thanks to all of you.
Latest word from Gorilla Music is that now they will pick the two winners from the top 20 instead of the top 10 due to all of the trouble people had getting their votes to register. So just because Flyght isn't in one of the top two slots doesn't mean that all hope is lost.
There will be an interview process so that they can determine which bands are most committed to fulfilling the contract obligations.

So please vote as often as you can today and don't forget to enter the give-away.
It may be late afternoon tomorrow before I pick the winner.
I need to grab voter comments that were left on other posts and get them all in one place before I pick.
So check back tomorrow and good luck to all!

In the meantime, I'm heading over to list "She Believed in Jumping for Joy" to my Etsy Shop now.
Have a great day!

Go Rams!
Go Flyght!
Go USA!!!

IF - Perspective

One person's too hot or too cold is probably another person's just right. :)

Digi STamps!!!

Now available here!
There are 5 fairies...

...and 5 for the boys.

A giant thank you to Mike for all of his help on this batch.
And a huge thank you to Karen for posting a Gorilla Music link over on the Sugar Nellie blog.

Rams did win their play-off game on Monday, but what a nail-biter!
They play tomorrow night for the Nailers Cup. Yikes! It's too exciting!!!

And here's a picture of Josh just because he doesn't seem to get enough blog time. And because he's sweet. :)

OOOOOOOO!!! I visited the blogs of some of the Sugar Nellie girls and found this, and this, and this!!!

Two By Two

Can you believe I'm considering a new series..."Two By Two"?
I know, I'll get back to the others eventually. I'm still relatively young. I got time. :)

"A Very Deer Couple" in my shop now.

We've been keeping busy around here with all things hockey.
Eli just finished up his regular season on Friday and play-offs begin tonight.
They had a spectacular record with only 1 loss and 2 ties.
Unfortunately we lost both home ice advantage and a place to practice when this happened on Valentine's Day.

Yep, that's our ice arena collapsing under the weight of the snow. There was a youth tournament going on at the time and the kids had just gone into the locker room 5 minutes earlier. Luckily the roof began creaking so people had a bit of notice to take cover. Miraculously no one was injured.
It happened at around 2:30. Eli would have been on the ice at 5:30 for practice. Still don't like thinking about it.

Anyway, Mike found a rink for the boys to practice on last night. I should have gone with them. I stayed home so I wouldn't miss any of the USA vs. CAnada game. Turns out we don't get MSNBC any more!!!!! I ended up watching ice dancing while Mike happily enjoyed the game on a giant screen at the ice arena. That's what I get, I guess.
My nephew texted me updates the whole time declaring "it was the best game EVA!!!!!!!".
:(
At least we won. :)

Only 6 days of voting left.
Don't forget to comment here each time you vote for a chance at my give-away painting.
(sorry if this is beginning to annoy anyone. it will be over soon. and thanks!)

GO RAMS!
GO FLYGHT!

Made for each other

Hi guys.
Stopping in to let you know I'm adding a new little painting to my shop.
A little late for Valentine's Day, I guess. But it would make a sweet "anytime" gift for that special someone.

Also want to thank everyone again for voting. Don't forget to enter the give-away each time you vote. If you are having trouble leaving a comment just let me know via email or facebook and I will enter one here for you. I'll also move all the comments from later posts down and include them in the drawing at the end of the month.
VOTE FLYGHT!

We are slowly getting back to normal after the big snowstorm. We lost power again on Wednesday night, but only for an hour or so.
Been watchin' some good movies. Zombieland and The Invention of Lying. Both very funny.
Finally took Eli out for his birthday dinner. Only 9 days late. :)
And that's about it. Boring.

Hope everyone has a warm and dry weekend and a very lovely Valentine's Day.

Ebay auctions

I was just over at Sandy's blog and saw this there. I don't know Penny, but I do know of her. Who doesn't?

The Pfatt girls are having a special auction to raise money for Penny and The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Inc- Alabama Chapter. The auction begins on Valentine's DAy at 9 PM EST.
Please spread the word.

Also, I never mentioned here that I have a few things listed on ebay as well. My Fairy tale Girls and Emily are all there for a much lower starting bid then the etsy price. The FAiry Tale girls end tomorrow so if you're looking for a bargain you should hurry on over.

And don't forget to enter my give-away in the previous post.
And, it's snowing!!!

Voter Appreciation Give-Away

Eight days into February and I'm finally getting this give-away going.
If you don't know the story of Flyght and the Battle of the Bands finals please look back a few posts and you'll be up to date.
(More likely you know of it and are sick of hearing about it.)

Either way, I wanted to do a little something to say "thank you" to all of the people that go to Gorilla Music everyday and vote for Flyght.
I wish I could send something to everyone who votes but unfortunately that would be impossible since they have over 1000 votes already.

All you have to do is head on over to Gorilla Music.com and vote everyday. (sometimes it will even let you vote a few times a day).
There is a picture of Flyght at the top of my sidebar. Just click and vote. You no longer have to register.
Then come back here and leave a comment. You can tell me you voted, or the # of your vote, or whatever you like.
Leave a comment on this post each time you vote from now until February 28.
On March 1st I'll go ahead and use the random number generator to select a winner.
Sorry I got such a late start with this. I know so many of you have been voting everyday already. But there's still a long way to go, so keep on voting.

Oh, what I'm giving away is the original painting shown above. "Heartstrings" is painted with acrylics on a 6 x 8 x 1 3/8" gallery-wrapped canvas. The polka dot background continues around the sides.
Good Luck! and Thanks again!!!

We survived!

The great snowstorm of 2010!
Lost power/heat at around 9:30 PM on Friday.
Got it back around 6:00 AM on Sunday.
At that time the thermostat read 41 degrees. Brrrr!

We lost it again Sunday afternoon, but it seems like it's here to stay for now.
Many are still without power including my parents.
They have a gas fireplace insert that is keeping them warm, but no running water since their pump runs on electricity.
Their phone service is spotty but I did manage to talk to them yesterday.

My mom talked of them trying to head this way for showers, but there are lots of trees down in the roads and driving conditions are not great.
(Rose and Eva Lynn don't worry about Dale if you haven't reached him, he and the cat went up to sleep at my mom's last night.)
My sister was heading back out there today before work so I'm waiting to here from her and then we'll decide if we should go out there.

So now we are still shoveling out, catching up on laundry and internet business.
No school today or tomorrow.
It's supposed to snow again tomorrow. :(

Poor Penny was very confused. Mike had to shovel her this path before she would think of stepping off the porch to do her business. She never gets on the furniture, in fact she's very uncomfortable when you make her get on it. But she got in bed with us Saturday night and we had to put a blanket on her to stop the shivering.

We'll be walking down to the post office soon if you are waiting for something from me. Hopefully it's open. We got no mail on Saturday so I'm not sure.
I'm almost done with my give-away painting and hope to be starting that up later today or tomorrow.
Thanks to everyone who kept voting for Flyght while we here in the Valley could not.
Keep it up! Only 20 days left. :)

Go visit this blog for a better idea of what's been going on in our area. Way better photos. :)

A little update...

There's been a little update over in The Shop.
"Alice Alone", "Simply Red", and "Goldilocks" are listed separately.

But reasonably priced so that if you REALLY wanted all three.... :)

Anyway, they are there if you want to go and have a look.

Have a great weekend! We are expecting lots of snow. How 'bout you?

Reminder: Vote Flyght! :)

I have been painting

I finished this up last night (it's already spoken for) and then started immediately on Goldilocks. (I'll do Dorothy next time...I promise.)
I'm almost done with her and then I'll be adding her and Alice and Red to my shop.

I spent yesterday sending a "Vote for Flyght" message out to all of my facebook friends (around 570), only to wake up this morning to learn that some people were getting all the replies I was getting. How annoying must that have been. Just want to apologize here too to anyone that may have been burdened with this. I'm so sorry. And also to thank everyone who is helping out. The button to vote for Flyght is in my sidebar..there at the top. You don't even have to register anymore. Just click on the button. Click on Flyght. And you're done.

I did manage to get a picture of Eli in his birthday shirt.

We call that his Stan Laurel face (or is it Oliver Hardy?) Right? Or he also kinda looks like the Fred Astaire puppet in Santa Claus is coming to Town.

Anyway, off to finish Goldilocks and then Rams Hockey in Wheeling tonight. Go Rams!
Tomorrow I'm going to work on my give-away painting. I have a pretty good idea of what I want to do.
I'll keep you posted.

Happy Birthday to my little Groundhog baby!

Who turns 17 today!!!
Taylor bought him a t-shirt that says I was born on Groundhog Day. I'll have to ambush him after school and get a picture of him wearing it. :) Taylor also had her mom's daycare kids call and sing Happy Birthday to him on our answering machine.
I almost cried. It was too sweet! Can't wait for him to hear it.

Really looking forward to watching Lost with him tonight. He and I are the only ones here who have stuck with it since the beginning. We'll have to find something else to watch together next year.

I kinda feel like today is the first day of the new year for me. I tend to forget how busy things stay around here in January with Aaron's birthday and then Eli's not long after. But now with the stamps sent off and Senior Night over, everyone relatively healthy and the next birthday not until April, I feel like I can get back on track. Mike's still here at home with Penny and I. Don't know how we'd have gotten through that last month if he'd been working. He's pretty good to have around. :)

I finally took some time this morning to visit some favorite blogs and everyone else seems to be getting so much done!
So with no further ado, I'm heading back to the old drawing board. :)

Oops! Here's a little further ado.
Don't forget to vote Flyght (see button in sidebar)
They're falling behind. Looks like it's going to be tougher to win this time.
Please help out if you have a minute.
Thanks so much!

THE BUTTONS UP!

You can vote now!
Currently tied for 1st with 3 votes. :)
As soon as things die down this week (see previous post) I'll be planning a give-away in appreciation of your support.
Thanks!
Go Flyght!

It's time! Well it should be anyway.

Remember several months back when you all helped my son, Aaron's, band win the first round of the online voting over at Gorilla records? Well, it's February and that means the final round is finally here. Or well, it will be as soon as they update the website.
I just went over and registered ( I think that will mean you can only vote once a day this time) only to find the bands have not been updated yet.
It would really mean so much to Aaron (and all) if you would take a moment register over at Gorilla Music. Once you register you can vote every day in February. Two of the top 10 in this round will receive a $25,000 recording contract and a 25 city tour.

Here they are in case you haven't seen/heard them yet.

Thanks so much (in advance).
Things have been crazy around here. I think I mentioned that since Mike is not working he was helping me clean up my new stamp images in Illustrator. Well, he's quite the perfectionist and it's taken longer than anticipated. But he just now finished up and I'll be sending those over to Sugar Nellie for approval momentarily.
In addition to that, tonight is Senior Night for Eli's hockey team. Mike has been busy getting that all organized, as well. Mostly while I laid on the couch recovering from my wisdom teeth extraction. I was able to go out shopping with him on Saturday and pick up all the things we needed for the Senior's gift bags. So we should be ready for that tonight.
Plus, Eli's birthday tomorrow.
Yeesh. I can't wait until Wednesday.

Anyway, I'll put a button for voting over in my sidebar as soon we are able to vote.
Thanks so much!

Oh, I should probably mention that the band's name is Flyght. :)
