Retro Mom

"You're So Pretty".
In my shop.

I'm feeling all scatterbrained these days. So much to do and so little getting done.
Miles removed from a 1950's sitcom mom. They got everything done...right...and managed to look good doing it.
It's 4:39 and I haven't showered yet. :(
Mike's been out of the house all week doing his census taker training. Yep, he's going to be a census taker for the next few months. It's all hush-hush though. He's not allowed to talk about it for the next 72 years. That's when they release the information to the public. We'll talk about it then. ;)

Anyway, things going on. Things going on. SAT's for Eli and TAylor tomorrow. Prom in 2 weeks for Eli and TAylor. Aaron's HIGH SHOOL GRADUATION!!! on June 4th. I've been watching old movies and going through old pictures trying to get ready for his party. Today I sat down and made a list of things that I hope he never forgets. It makes me both happy and sad to look back. But mostly happy. :) I'm pretty confident that he'll be able to say he had a happy childhood. I know I enjoyed it.

I've also been thinking about my blog and how I've been neglecting it lately. I only seem to stop in when I have something to put in the shop. I really want to make it more than that. To only say things when I really have something to say. That's what I want. We'll see what happens.

But for now. There's a new painting in my shop. :0

IF - Ahead

Well it took a few days, but I managed to create a new painting specifically for the Illustration Friday theme! That almost never happens!

Hello

Just sitting here printing out some frog-related prints for an order that has to go out today.
Aren't polka-dot trees the best?
Gingham ones might be nice too, I'm thinking. Hmmmm.

Anyway, this weekend didn't really go as planned.
Josh turned 14 on Friday. (that did go as planned. there's really no stopping something like that.)
He got a new 12 string guitar from us which made him quite happy.
Friday evening brought with it high winds that were just too much for one of our "seen-better-days" backyard trees to bear.
Mike was out back putting down the umbrella...he heard a crack...the next thing he knew the tree was on the ground.
Good thing it wasn't a few feet taller or it would have got him.

Luckily it fell just right and no damage was done.
Josh did get his Eat 'n Park breakfast on Saturday morning, but the pizza and pumpkin pie party planned to celebrate his and my mom's birthday had to be cancelled. Seems she has the intestinal flu that she's now passed on to my dad. :(
So those two are still owed a party.

Sunday morning was spent helping my sister-in-law clean up after this.
A much bigger tree (from 2 yards away!) made a crash landing on her back porch during the aforementioned storm. She was not quite so lucky as us. This is what she came home to after work on Friday.

Along with the porch, repair work is needed in the kitchen and two bedrooms.

Needless to say, she can't stay there while the repairs are being made.
Not fun!

We're just glad that no one was home. Except for the poor dog, Molly, who was cowering in the basement.
But she's fine.

On the bright side, the Penguins are winning again! Eli and Taylor went to game two.
Eli's day/life were made when Craig Adams called him over to his car after the game to sign his "I HEART CRAIG ADAMS" sign.
I'll have to take some pictures of him with it.

Okay, back to printing.
Happy Tuesday!
Go Pens!!!

Oh, I almost forget! I also discovered Treasury East this weekend and can't get enough!!!

I'll Keep You Safe

We watched The Fantastic Mr. Fox the other day.
So these little guys were bound to show up somewhere. :)

I actually went and dug the book I received on my 11th birthday out of the attic to reread before I watched. Lots of changes. All good. :) Loved it!

Off to add the painting to my shop.
Hopin' tonight's game has a better outcome than Game 1.
Eli and Taylor will be there.
GO PENS!!!

The Frog Prince

I thought about not listing this original, but after spending so much money yesterday I thought I better.
We did get a lot checked off of our to-do list though and that feels good.
Aaron's graduation party date has been set and the pavilion reserved.
Eli and Taylor's prom flowers have been ordered.
Eli's tux has been fitted.
Also we are still on track with "3 miles a day in April and May". (except for the one day that I wasn't feeling good)
We even walked in the rain yesterday.

So, yeah, I'm offering this little painting in my shop.
Similar to my Hulafrog baby, but not quite the same. I took away the blankie and added the little castle pull-toy. (my favorite part)
Speaking of Hulafrog and went and visited the site yesterday and it's looking really cute.

I have the house to myself today. That never happens anymore.
Mike is off volunteering at a hockey tournament. Unfortunately, that leaves me without a car so I can't go visit my mom on her birthday. :(
I did call her though and she's in bed with the stomach flu, so she probably isn't up for any company anyway.

I've been sitting here adding some new items to my Zazzle shop.
Take a look if you have a minute.

As Pretty As You Please

Here's how she turned out.

As, always, you can find her here.

Everyone felt better today. Josh went back to school. Mike and Penny and I enjoyed a nice long walk. It's supposed to start cooling off again tomorrow. :(

We bought the kids Sherlock Holmes for Easter and still haven't found a night to watch it. I guess we could have watched it Monday or Tuesday but we watched home movies instead...hockey last night...tonight Aaron has to work. We're thinking Saturday. Maybe.

Just another girl with bunny sketch

Josh got sick last night and I've been feelin' queasy/dizzy all day. Which means I didn't walk my 3 miles or get any cleanin' done.
But I did add a few sketches to the old stash.

So now it's "3 miles a day in April and May...minus 1 day in April plus 1 day in June". :)

Well that was lovely!

Easter weekend, that is.
Perfect weather. Lots of family. And, of course, ham. :)

But now it's time to get back to work.

I've really only gotten one room cleaned so far. So if you don't hear from me so much, you'll know where I am.
Also I've made a "3 miles a day in April and May" commitment. So far, so good.

Hope you all had a lovely weekend as well.
Ta ta.
