IF - Slither

This was a sketch I did for my last set of Sugar Nellie stamps.
I think it works here for the Illustration Friday prompt - Slither. :)

Sketchin' what's on my mind

Aaron's upcoming graduation mostly. (not sure what part of my brain the "girl in fox clothing" came from)
It's his last real day of school. Next week is all about awards and graduation practice.
GRADUATION!

It seems that it only took minutes for him to go from this:

to this:

We couldn't be prouder of him and all that he's accomplished.
I have a video of him on my facebook page singing a song that he wrote. The video was taken by his friend Hayley during writer's forum in the school library. I'd post it here but it's not on youtube so I don't know how to do it.
He will also be performing the class song with a group of seniors that put together a little band for the occasion.
So, yeah, I'm bound to cry.

I never did mention that Flyght did not win the Gorilla Music contest. :(
But they do really, really appreciate all of the support that they got from family, friends, and followers.
Gorilla did book a show for them this weekend. They will be playing the Cleveland Music Festival tomorrow at Peabody's. Many bands. Two or Three stages. They go on at 10:30 and play about 5 songs. All original, I think.
So, if you're in the area...

Eli's heading to the Indianapolis 500 this weekend with Taylor and her family.
And Josh has his 8th grade dance tonight on the Gateway Clipper.
He'll be heading off to high school next year! Yikes!!!

So here's a toast to my boys and all of the other kids and their proud parents out there.
Hope you have a wonderful summer!!!

(this post would be so much better if I could end with a "Go Pens"! gah!)

I love this book!

I even owned if for a few days before we passed it along as a baby gift to one of Mike's old co-workers.
I needs to get me another!

I found the artist first...
then spotted the book at Barnes and Noble.
When visiting the website today
I discovered that soon there will be a Loud Book!
YAY!

Make a Wish!

A month's worth of work

Well, I guess some of it's older than that, but still.
Usually I'd be worried if I had so many things sittin' in my shop for so long, but for some crazy reason I'm just not.
Too many other things to worry about right now, I guess.
Plus it's nice to be able to take a group shot like this.

In addition to these I did a few custom pieces this month.
One of a very sweet family.

And one of an adorable, soon-to-be 4-year-old, named Brooklyn.

So, I've been keeping busy.
Well, Eli and Taylor just walked in and are beggin' for spaghettios. I guess I just open the can and heat them better than they can. :)
Gotta run.

More Prom and an already-gone ACEO

First up, an orignal ACEO card that I painted yesterday. So fast and way fun!
In my shop and already sold. More to come!

And here are the "more prom photos" I promised. :)

Derek Zoolander?

Haha, look at Eli's face. :)

Red-eye fix gone wrong!

Be A Clown!

Me once again just dropping in to tell you about a new listing.

I know, I promised a post of substance, but I just spent the last hour making a new treasury on Treasury EAst and now I just DON'T WANT TO BE SITTING HERE ANYMORE!.

So new painting here.
Treasury here.

Also, after Aaron finishes up his pizza deliveries tonight at Angelo's in Finleyville, he'll be hanging around to sing some songs until about 11. Just him and his guitar.
Stop in if you're nearby.

Just a few Prom photos...

...that I took on our crappy digital camera.
Mike took bunches more on our old Canon. Those will be forthcoming. :)
For now these will have to do:

I didn't really get any shots of the whole group, but Mike did.
Hopefully will get those developed tomorrow and I'll share.

Fiona and Duhgall

I haven't been doing many commissioned pieces lately. I'd like to. I just always feel instant dread as soon as I say yes. I don't know why. I've never had any bad experiences. Nothing to base this feeling on. Just me being irrational.

Anyway, I did accept this one and am so glad I did.
I painted it back in March. It was a Mother's Day gift from one of my blogging friends to one of her blogging friends, so I couldn't share it here until now.
Word is both "giver" and "getter" were happy with it. And that makes me happy. :)

Feeling a bit sad about the Pens loss last night, but excited about it being Prom Eve!
Hoping the rain will stop by tomorrow morning. Soggy or not, I'll be sure to share photos over the weekend.
Have a nice Thursday.

This Time

As in, I won't let it get away this time.

Hope everyone had a lovely Mother's DAy. I know I did. The "one that I didn't let get away" made sure of it.
I opened my gifts with my boys all around. (many gifts Penguin related, of course) Aaron made pancakes for all while Mike made me a yummy omelette that everyone ended up sharing.

It was quite cold here yesterday, so I opted to skip our 3 mile walk. I know, that's bad. Especially since I nibbled on quite a few chocolates too. But we did take a walk down to the pond while we were out visiting my Mom. She's not been feeling great lately. She's having pain in her legs that is so bad it's keeping her up at night. They've done some tests and can't find anything yet. She's seeing an orthopedist this week, so hopefully he can help her.

Back at home, Mike grilled some shrimp for our shrimp taco dinner. And lastly, we watched The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus which was so wonderfully strange! And all 4 of my very favorites were in it! Heath Ledger, Johnny Depp, Colin Farrell and JUDE LAW!!!
Perfect!

Oh yeah, I snuck some painting in too. :)

How did you spend your day?

IF - Fearless

I think these two were pretty fearless...what with the wolves and bears and all.

See more FEARLESS art at Illustration Friday.

I've been meaning to mention...

May Set
Originally uploaded by crafty mcgee.

I think you'll like it. :)

Also haven't mentioned here that I was featured over at Fire and Ice last month. They are having a give-away of my "Hope Whispers" print.
Still a few days to enter. :)

On the wall and in my shop.

Well, technically we hung it on the old door in our bedroom.
Nevertheless, it's ready to hang...at your house maybe?

Curiouser and curiouser...

Problem: I want to make some bigger pieces, but my scanner is too small to scan anything larger than 12".
Solution: How about a triptych?

"Curiouser and curiouser"
The total size is around 5.5" by 24".

Still need a couple of touch ups and some holes in the back for hanging.
But I couldn't wait to share. :)
