ETSY SALE!

Hey, guess what?
Etsy has coupon codes!
I'm trying them out by having a 20% off sale on everything in my shop.
Here's the code to use at checkout:
NOVSALE20

Click here to go there now. :)

Also, after looking at the above painting for a few days I decided to make a few small changes.
Her face shape was bothering me so I made it a bit rounder. I gave her a ponytail and added a heart to the chimney smoke. :)

Thanksgiving 2010

Another year has gone by and still, I have so much to be thankful for.
Enjoy the holiday everyone and don't forget to save room for dessert.

Here Comes Santa Claus

I'm in love with this guy right now.
Can't get enough of good old St. Nick.
I've created two new categories over in my Etsy Shop for the holiday.
Holiday Originals for originial paintings and that's probably where I'll put the ornaments too, when they are all ready.
And Holiday Prints for, well, holiday prints. :)

We spent the weekend here at home for the most part.
Mike was sick and is still recovering.  He thinks it's from "bad work yogurt".
I made a few more ornaments and painted me some Santa. Also went on a mini kitchen cleaning frenzy, but that didn't last long.
Tonight we are heading to The Altar BAr to see Aaron and the guys, aka Flyght, perform as one of the opening bands for Cavo.

So I'm off to try and fit in a grocery store run before it's time to get ready for that.
Happy Monday, all!

IF - Sneaky

Sure, Santa has to be sneaky on Christmas Eve.
But if you happen to pass him on the street he'll just wave and say hi.

(ha ha, also just noticed that since you can't see his mouth he looks a bit like a burglar...
also sneaky)

Holiday Sneak Peek

I've been busy trying to come up with some new things to offer this holiday season.
Here are some of the things I have so far.
Some girls made with collaged pieces from some of my prints, pretty paper, vintage text, and frames from my attic.
Some fancied up prints mounted on wood.
And some Duda Dangles!
I didn't make any last year and forgot how much fun they were.
This one is spoken for, but there will be a few more.
I'll have a little holiday update in the near future.
Fa la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la!!!

(If you like a less homemade look, be sure to click my Zazzle Ornament link in the sidebar.)

Thanks for sticking around...

...even when you didn't have to.
Thanks so much to all of my blog readers who visit me everyday and never fail to leave sweet comments that make me smile.
Although I try my best to return the favor, I am easily distracted by pretty pictures, links, and you tube videos that I just have to watch.
And before you know it... well you know how it goes.

Happy Saturday!

I've got some things to be happy about today. How about you?

It's going to be a lovely fall day.

Eli is going to be recognized over at The Ice Garden for the work he did painting the center ice logo.

And I found time to paint this yesterday. She makes me happy.

I can't stop!

I'm obsessed with making these ornaments over at Zazzle.  I've already made a ton, but see many more in my future.
See them all (so far) here.  If there are any images you'd like to see on an ornament just let me know and I'll try it out.

IF - Afterwards

Sure, she'd have some thawing out and warming up to do afterwards.
But, for now, she was perfectly content.

Marshmallow World

Been busy being inspired by favorites from our Christmas cd collection.

It's a marshmallow world in the winter
When the snow comes to cover the ground
It's the time for play, it's a whipped cream day
I wait for it the whole year round.

Those are marshmallow clouds being friendly
In the arms of the evergreen trees
And the sun is red like a pumpkin head
It's shining so your nose wont freeze.

The world is your snowball, see how it grows
Thats how it goes whenever it snows
The world is your snowball just for a song
Get out and roll it along

It's a yum-yummy world made for sweethearts
Take a walk with your favorite girl
It's a sugar date, what if spring is late
In winter it's a marshmallow world.

We have the Johnny Mathis version.
FUN!

Headin' on over to the shop to list it now.

Up next?

Also wanted to mention that I'm offering my angel paintings as a set in addition to separately.
If you purchase them that way you are really getting one free!
Of course if someone purchases a single painting this listing will disappear. :(
So don't dilly dally.

I went digging for symbolism and here is what I found:

The Christmas gift for Kindness and Generosity
The Snowflake for Peace and Purity

Made some changes

Wasn't sure how I was going to be able to add the number 2 to the second angel and still have it make since.
So I went and took the "little angel" off the first one.
Now they are just numbered.
I'm heading over to revise the #1 listing
and add the #2.

Also wanted to send big thanks to Mirlette for making me her Friday Spotlight Artist.
See the interview here.

It's pretty quiet around here.
Just Eli, Taylor, Me and the pets.
Everyone else is in VA.
In fact, Aaron's probably hitting the stage right now.
Have a great weekend, all!

One Little Angel

Holding One Little Tree

So I was stuck at home all day without a car and decided to paint angels.
Well, just this one for now, but more like her soon.

And so about the van.  We got a recall notice saying that our back axle could be cracked and break at any time while we are driving and this could perhaps make for dangerous driving. Perhaps!!!
Anyway we took the van in last night and, yep, we do the need the part.
It won't be in until February.
Now we are waiting on the call from the rental car company saying that they have a car for us.
But since it's 4:43 I'm thinking they aren't calling today.
And since there's no food in the house (except for candy) looks like a pizza night.

That's my story for today.
You can find 1 Little Angel in the shop.

On my desk...

Believe it or not, I just cleaned my desk up yesterday.
Then I painted this...and, viola!, instant mess.
This painting is headed down to VA with Aaron on Friday. (after I paint the sides, of course)
He will be singing at his Uncle's restaurant/bar on Friday evening.
If you are in the area you should stop by The South Riding Inn and say Hi.
They probably won't have this hanging in the ladies room yet, but it will be in the near future.
If they like it.
I think I'm just going to stay home and hang out with Ruca and Penny this time.
Also on my desk are the Christmas ornaments/tags I was playing around with.
That's still ongoing, although I was thinking of offering these 3 as a set.

We'll see.
Hope everyone's November is going well (good?) so far.
I've got no complaints.
