If you are one of my Facebook friends you already know what's been keeping me busy for the last week or so. I'm very happy to say that I'm signing with the Painted Planet Licensing Group.
They represent a wonderful group of amazing artists and I'm thrilled to be joining their family.
With these girls in my corner I'll be able to devote my time to painting pretty pictures and that's just what I want to be doing.
So I've been sitting for the last 4 days organizing/editing all of my artwork. I really did not realize just how many images there were!
I swear it's taking me longer to do this than it did to paint it all!
But the end is in sight and soon I'll be back to making new things.
Actually I did borrow a few hours the other night to work on this.

This is a custom piece and no it's not even close to done. But it's a pretty good start I think.
They also need me to come up with a simple little logo.
I think this is the one I've decided on.
What do you think?
Be honest.

I hope everyone is enjoying the last few days of July. The summer is flying by as usual.
We are also scurrying to get all of the paperwork done for Eli and Aaron so that they can start classes at their various schools next month.
Every time we finish one form two more show up in it's place.
Oh well, must get back to it.
I'll be back soon. :)

How exciting for you! I love this painting. What a great pictures for a wedding gift. Love the logo idea. The flag pendants are wonderful!

I love the new piece you're working on, but...and remember YOU said be honest!! ^_^...I'm not a fan of the logo. I don't know if I'd associate you with this. It seems too stern or something. I'd love to see a sweep of hair and a pair of crossed feet or something. That's the charm of your drawings to me...Now...ignore this input if you like. But I just had to be honest. I'd like your work irrigardless! :-)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Diane! and I love the logo
ReplyDeleteI know how you feel about getting the kids ready for school. My baby is starting University and my eldest (who already has a degree in fine arts) is starting a new venture to be a dental assistant, go figure, you can never have too much education.
Good luck with your new group, your work is amazing and I have loved it for many years.
:)
I like the logo; however, it does not invoke the feeling in me that get when I see your art!! When I see your art I think "priceless!! and adorable!!" then I smile and feel whimsy, dancing hearts, and want to twirl in circles and hug the day, ice cream, flowers..." I don't know if this makes sense, but you said be honest!! I will continue to adore, admire and BUY lots of your art b/c I simply love it no matter what logo you go with!!

what a fabulous opportunity for you, many congrats Diane ! Well deserved! the logo is really adorable, i just love flags so much ! i do agree with Cheri, though, but if you feel happy and comfortable with your lovely logo, go for it.
ReplyDeleteAlways follow your instincts, that is the most important thing.
hugs to you xoxo
Love the new painting, even though it is not finished, I know it will wonderful. I have to agree with some of the others-it doesn't excite me. You are so much more creative. I'm being honest.
ReplyDeleteI agree with the folks that don't love your potential logo...to me your faces are your signature... you need a face.... I LOVE YOUR WORK!...just not the logo, sorry.
ReplyDeleteIt's great! I love buntings!
