Daily Duda Doodle 3/31/12 and The Third and Final

I struggled with my doodle today, but finally settled on this one.

I wish I hadn't colored her dress in so much, but what's done is done.

I'm still kinda fond of her.

Also only one original painting left in my shop

as I sold two yesterday.

As for our evening, Josh's band turned out to be pretty dang good.

I hadn't heard them play because, well, band's always practice

at the drummers' house.

Josh plays bass.

See him? :)

Aaron's show was postponed.

This is the second time that the lead singer for the headlining

band has cancelled.

Well, last time he had a court date.

This time he just didn't show up.

The first time the other acts played anyway this time they 

just cancelled the whole event.

So Aaron was pretty upset. 

He just wants to sing for pete's sake.

The upside was that he got to watch Josh's show

and be proud of him right along with us.

Daily Duda Doodle 3/30/12

11 consecutive days of Daily Doodles.

I never stick with something that long.

You know that.

But I do love to doodle so I'll try to keep

this going on into April and beyond.

Plan on listing this little flower girl

at 11 am EST.

They've been going fast-ish so don't dilly-dally.

Big night tonight for two of my boys.

Josh's band, The Third and Final, is having it's first show 

at The Smiling Moose 

on the south side.

And then over to to The Strip

for Aaron's show with Days of the New

at The Altar Bar.

Should be fun!

I thought for sure I'd have a new painting to show today too, but no.

I was pooped after our day at the movies.

I thought I'd sit down and paint while I watched the hockey

game, but instead I just sat.

Soon, though.

I'm going to do some cleaning and some food buying today

and hopefully some painting tonight.

Just not sure what it's gonna be yet.

I'm really enjoying my doodles.

I'm even thinking of making some little 

books each month with prints

of my Daily Duda Doodles

Just have to decide on the

best way to go about it.

I think a handmade look would be best.

This is way old.

But it does fit the theme.

Well, kinda.  I don't think these shades are 

keeping out much sun.

But they look so groovy.

And that's what really matters, right?

IF - Yield

Plant a seed and watch it grow.

It's a messy business

Sure, I usually do a bit of collaging in my art,

but this new project has it as my main focus.

It's fun, but oh what a mess I'm making.

Paper bits everywhere, magazines, fabric, buttons, ribbon, paint...

What makes matters worse is that my desk is in the foyer right now.

Hopefully it won't stay here forever, but  for now the mess is the first thing you 

see when you walk in the front door.  

Nice.

And in the evening a lot of it follows me in to the living

room to watch hockey or my shows.

Oh well, at least I'm adding some things to my "done" shelf.

And maybe when I've wrapped this up it will be time for spring cleaning.

Just took a small break to watch the unveiling of the

Mario Lemieux statue.

I Know A Girl

Took a break from the project I've  been working on

to paint this little girl.

But now I'm feeling a little behind.

I have a busy weekend ahead:

Lunch at my mom's today. 

My nephew has the lead in his school musical and I've been looking forward to

the forever.  We are going tomorrow night (and maybe again Sunday if I can't help myself).

Also, Aaron is playing at The Hot House on Saturday night so we'll

be heading down there after the musical.

Hope he saves my favorite songs until we get there!
